RACS 5 Access Control System Integration with KONE and Schindler Lift Systems

The use of lift systems for traffic management (Destination Dispatch System) makes it possible to optimise the flow of people in a facility, reduce lift operating costs and electricity consumption, and increase the comfort of the facility.

The RACS 5 an enterprise-class access control and building automation system by Roger offers the possibility of software integration with lift systems from KONE and Schindler.

Integration of the RACS 5 system with the mentioned lift systems enables central management of users of both integrated systems from VISO software intended for the management of the RACS 5 system. The integration enables to:

  • assign a profile in the access control system to a user, defined in the lift system, determining the user's rights of access control to lifts and floors;
  • define identifiers for the lift user, so the user can use the same identifier as in the access control system and in the lift system; this function enables the use in the lift system of identification methods available in the RACS 5 system (card, fingerprint, telephone, etc.);
  • define the default floor to which the lift will take the user after successful identification.

In addition, integration with the KONE lift system allows the user to define the mode of lift paging (e.g. for a disabled person, priority, etc.).

The integration of the RACS 5 access control system with the lift system has been successfully implemented in 3T Office Park in Gdynia and has also proven itself in two Warsaw high-rise buildings. Further projects are already in the pipeline for the application of this solution.
